Do I need a referral to make an appointment at MK Movement?
No. However, if your appointments are to be paid by a 3rd party (eg. WorkCover, Medicare or DVA) you will require a referral from your GP or specialist. You can access a range of these referral forms.
Can I claim a private health rebate for attending MK Movement?
Yes. Most private health funds recognise Exercise Physiology services. We recommend that you check with your health fund as the rebate will depend on your level of cover.

- Initial Consultation – Code 102
- Subsequent Consultation – Code 202
- Exercise Physiology Group Class – 502
For a session where you are using a medicare EPC referral you are unable to use your private health card for payment of session.
Do you offer gym memberships?
No. MK Movement offers appointments by consultations or group classes only. Because we are in SPLASH Leisure Centre, Brimbank Wellness & Aquatic Centre & Sunshine Leisure Centre, we have a fantastic arrangement with the gym and council that offers specific value and savings to our clients to use the gym as a member. I have been referred by my doctor. What should I bring along to my initial assessment?
- Any X-rays, scans and tests relevant to your visit.
- A current list of your medications.
- Your health fund or medicare card if applicable.
- Your workers’ compensation medical certificate and claim number information, if applicable.
- Your referral letter (if you have one.)
- Walking shoes, comfortable clothes to exercise in, a small towel for hygiene reasons, and a drink bottle.
Do I need to bring a towel to the Group Classes?
Yes, We recommend all class participants bring a towel for hygienic reasons during group classes.
Do you have any exercise equipment at your clinic that I could utilise to help achieve my goals?
Yes, our clinic offers a state of the art rehabilitation specific gym, hydro pool, with a full range of cardio equipment, aqua equipment (dumbbells & kickboards), dual stack free motion machine and lots of additional weights, swiss balls and many other pieces of equipment.
Are all of your staff accredited professionals with relevant credentials and insurances?
Yes, all MK Movement team members meet the strict guidelines for full membership, accreditation and insurance with all relevant professional associations in Australia.
As well as that, all the team at MK Movement are fully accredited with VIC WorkCover, Medicare Australia, TAC, Department of Veteran Affairs, NDIS and all Private Health Funds.
Is there any public transport available nearby?
Yes there is plenty of public transport available nearby.
CRAIGIEBURN – The train station is < 4km away. Take the 529 bus as there is a stop at the shopping centre across the road (<50m.)
There are also plenty of taxis around to help accommodate your transport needs.
SUNSHINE – The train station is only 500m from our front door.
KEILOR DOWNS/ST ALBANS – Take the 418 bus from St Albans station (approx 11 min journey) and jump off at
Keilor Shopping Centre which is opposite the centre,
Where do I park when attending your clinic?
There is plenty of parking available for both locations.
Craigieburn – There is a large car park directly in front of the leisure centre with plenty of wheel chair accessible spots. During the evening, expect it to become a lot busier and try use the secondary car park behind the centre which is in front of the athletics track.
Sunshine – There is a small car park directly in front of the leisure centre. It can become busy, but normally within 3-5 mins cars are moving. There is a great multi-story car park very close by which is a free car park for the first 3 hours. Plenty of 1 or 2 hour street car parks close by as well.
Keilor Downs/St Albans – There is plenty of parking directly in front of the complex or at the shopping centre opposite the complex.
How to best prepare for your first session with MK Movement?
You will receive an onboarding email from MK Movement within 24-48 hrs of booking in your initial appointment. Make sure to check junk or spam folder if you don’t see it in this time. The onboarding email will include all information regarding what to bring, where to meet, what to wear, expectations of the first session and include a web link to a goal setting/health history form which we would love to have completed prior to seeing you.
What is the cost of your sessions or programs?
Yes we certainly do. We have full EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities at our clinic as well as accepting cash and bank transfers.
